We are exceedingly pleased to announce an intimate performance from one of our favourite artists of the last few years, Bea Brennan!
Part of London-based Bleep43 collective, Bea came to our attention via her âDay, Time Variationsâ EP in 2020, a luminescent set of moods on Anthony Childs & Dan Beanâs Old Technology imprint as well as the otherworldly âLogos 2â track on cult Irish label Apartment Recordsâ âTenementsâ compilation. She followed that up with one of the highlights of 2022, the stunning âJagged Highâ LP, which didnât leave the playlist here at Unscene Manor for many months.
Drawing from influences as diverse as Suzanne Ciani, Steve Reich and afterhours raving, Brennanâs output is ethereal & psychedelic yet grounded in a wonderful reality. With a grasp of melody & harmony reminiscent of Terry Riley, her compositions stand out firmly in the sea of contemporary ambient wallpaper and indulgent modular electronics. Electronic music with real heart, this promises to be a show that will linger in the memory long after the final tones have subsided.
Rounding out the line-up are two local chaps of legendary statusâŠ
Oootini brings his accidental electronics & woozy field recordings out of the studio for a rare live set. Expect slurred repetitions and static movements.
Wonky techno maestro Bill Karnation ditches the kick drums for the night to concentrate on his idiosyncratic vein of ambience. Peep the interludes on his excellent âMechanismoâ EP for an idea of what might go down.
