Double Heavyweight edition of Portishead’s studio album Third from 2008, their first following the group’s hiatus. Heavily influenced by the Silver Apples, out rock and even industrial and krautrock, they constructed an album that is stark, uncompromising and yet strangely beautiful. It features an update of their trademark sound as well as some dazzling departures such as the industrial clatter of Machine Gun, the driving beats of Silence or the Kate Bush-isms of The Rip.
