You Just Gotta Know My Mind / Karen's Theme (You Just Gotta Know My Mind)

Karen Verros' version of the Donovan-penned CRACKER "You Just Gotta Know My Mind" (first issued on Dot in October '65) has long been held in high regard and for good reason. Arranged and conducted by Jack Nitzsche, co-produced by Dave Hassinger—you can't really go wrong with names like that! Guess it fell through the cracks at the time though, cos original copies are now pretty damn hard to find (and expensive if you can find one—a copy sold for $700 last year!). It also transpires there are 2 slightly different edits, one running about 20 seconds longer than the other—this spunky new issue from Ace Records features the longer version, running at 2.12.
